An Altar Where You Are
Making an altar where you are, this is something I've been really thinking about lately. I feel it's something someone really needs to hear right now.
Don't let a cliché of how worship "should" look dictate how you worship. Don't let a cliché of how worship "should" look, make you hesitate to give God your ALL. If giving God your all looks like jumping up and down, do it. If giving God your all looks like sitting in a ball crying out to him, do it. If it's standing still, if it's running, if it's dancing before the lord, shouting, if it's sitting at work and just noticing how good he really is, DO IT. Stop waiting, stop worrying about how your worship appears to others. When everyone else is standing still, if giving God your all looks crazy, DO IT. If everyone else's worship looks crazy, but giving your all looks like stillness, DO IT. Their opinions don't matter in the long run. All that matters is how much you give to the God who saved you, and wants to be with you forever in a perfect eternity. He loves you so much, he does so much for you, even our all is the least we could give him. So go ahead and give it all.
God appeared to Abram and said, “I will give this land to your children.” Abram built an altar at the place God had appeared to him.
