People of Purpose

 

PEOPLE OF PURPOSE

We used to live in our sinful human nature.

Only by God's grace can we be saved. The only way to salvation is to accept the gift. You cannot lose it unless you give it back. The only way to lose a gift is to return it.

"Before time began God planned these things"

Our purpose is to do the good things that God has planned for us in advance. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Every day is recorded, and every moment is remembered.

We were made for a purpose on purpose, but God sees an even bigger picture. God has prepared me to be who I am for a reason.

The opposite of on purpose for a purpose is random. Purpose gives direction, and randomness brings chaos and disorder. God is the God of design and order and direction and certainty and clarity and intention.

Nothing surprises God.

Who are you today, and how did you get here? these questions are the sum of the decisions you've made up to this point.

God doesn't live in man-made temples (Acts 17:24) After the resurrection, the Holy Spirit no longer dwelled in temples, God doesn't live in church buildings which are not "the house of the Lord," he lives in us, we are now the house of the Lord, and his spirit dwells in us, part of our purpose is to share the life and breath he has given us through his Holy Spirit

He decided everything about us, we have to decide if we will follow his plan.

DREAM YOU

Our prayers are a script for the rest of our life. Don't only pray "small" prayers, because God can do things bigger than our "small" prayers. Pray things that you and the next person wouldn't be able to do alone. Dream big.

GOD YOU

God you is a combination of your dreams and your prayers for tomorrow. Our purpose is to bring glory to God. To worship God, and serve people.

We are people of purpose, what God says about us is true, we were created with meaning.

Father, I believe you have created me on purpose for a purpose. Please help me fully trust this truth, discover my purpose, and live it out with others. I pray this in the name of Jesus the Christ. Amen.

[1] As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins,

[8] For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— [9] not by works, so that no one can boast. [10] For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.‭

1 Chronicles‬ ‭4:10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

[10] Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.
